Mokelumne Hill Today
Today, Mokelumne Hill is a quaint little bedroom comunity with a population of 564. With only a dozen or so streets, one could walk the entire town in an about an hour. Main Street is the business district and if you blink, you just might miss it. There are only a few businesses in operation. The Post Office and Library are also located on Main Street.

The Double Springs Brewery recently moved to Main Street. Along with brewing beer and wine, it also has an indoor/outdoor cafe, serving pizza, sandwiches and burgers. The cafe is open 8am-8pm Wednesday-Sunday.

The Mokelumne River Lodge is not in town but rather on the rivers edge. The lodge is between Mokelumne Hill's Main Street and Jackson.

Town Folk
The people in Mokelumne Hill are few but great. Artists, such as Randy Sparks of The New Christy Minstrels. World renowned as a founder in folk music and over 24 albums. They are best known for such hits as "This land is your land". Randy Sparks also wrote music for Burl Ives and John Denver.

Another artist is Pamela Hill. Pamela Hill designs quilts with consideration for durability and function as important as the appearance of the quilt. She creates dense textures through the intricate piecing of extremely small pieces of fabric; primarily pima cottons, silks and rare African, Japanese and Indian traditional silks and cottons. The tradition of American Quilts is celebrated through the creation of new designs and the inclusion of non-traditional fabrics in traditional designs.
