Netscape 4.7 - Email

There are two ways to set up an email account in Netscape 4.7. You can either set up the account after you are already in the program, or you can use what's called the Profile Manager. The Profile Manager allows you to set up multiple users with different email addresses to use Netscape.

Setting up directly from Netscape

  • Click on Edit -> Preferences.

  • Click on the plus next to Mail and Newsgroups. Click Identity.

  • In Your Name field, enter in name to be shown who email is from.

  • In Email Address field, enter in your Volcano email address.

  • Click on Mail Servers.

    •
  • At Incoming Mail Servers section, delete any previous entries. Click Add.





    •
  • Settings should be as follows:
    • Server name: pop.volcano.net
    • Server Type: POP3 Server
    • Username: Your Volcano email address
  • Click OK.





    •
  • In the Outgoing Mail Server section enter the following:
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field: mail.volcano.net.
    • Outgoing mail server user name: Your Volcano email address

  • Click OK to exit Preferences.
