VIP Setup Instructions Mac Outlook Express 5

If you have already gone throught the Internet Setup Assistant for MacOS 8 or 9, and set up your email account, then you do not need to go through these steps. Follow these steps if you have created your connection manually, or if you are setting up an additional email account.

New Email account

Open Outlook Express. Click on Tools and then Accounts.
Click New, and then click Mail. This will take you into the Account Setup Assistant.

Type your name in the Display Name field.
Click on the right arrow to continue.

Internet E-mail Address

Type in your Volcano email address in the E-mail Address field.
Click on the right arrow.

E-mail Server Names

My Incoming mail server is a(n) POP server
Incoming mail (POP, IMAP) server: pop.volcano.net
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.volcano.net
Click on the right arrow.

Internet Mail Login

Account ID: Your Volcano username
Password: Your Volcano password
Check the Save Password box if you would like your Mac to remember your email password.
Click on the right arrow.

Congratulations

All you have to do here is enter in a name for the email account. This name can be anything you would like, for instance My Email or Volcano Email. This name is only for display purposes and does not have to be anything specific. Click on Finish to complete the setup.
