Setting up with Profile Manager


To get to the Profile Manager double click on the Hard Drive Icon. Then open the Netscape Communicator folder. The Profile Manager should be in this folder.

If the Profile Manager is not in this location, find it using your Sherlock search tool.


Profile Manager

  • Click on New to start creating the Profile.


  • Click Next at the introduction screen.


Infomation About You

  • Full Name: Name to be shown on sent email.
  • Email Address: Your Volcano email address.

  • Click Next.

Your Profile Name

  • Enter in Profile Name. Name of the person using this profile is fine.

  • Click Next.

Your Profile Folder

  • Click on the Change button to change were your Profile is stored. The default location will normally be fine.

  • Click Next.

Outgoing Mail Settings

  • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.volcano.net

  • Click Next.

Set up your Incoming Mail Server

  • Mail server user name: Your Volcano username
  • Incoming Mail Server: pop.volcano.net
  • Mail Server type: POP3
  • Click Next

News Settings

  • If you are not going to using newsgroups leave these fields empty and click Next.
  • News (NNTP) Server: news.volcano.net.

  • Click Finish.

Shortcut Icons

  • Check the boxes for the items that you would like shortcuts for on the Desktop.

  • Click Next.

Netscape Import

  • If you want Netscape to import email messages and address book from another program, leave the box checked and click Next.
  • Uncheck the box if you don't want to import at this time.

  • Click Next.

Setup Complete

  • Click on Done to complete the setup.
