VIP Setup Instructions Internet Connection Wizard

Getting to the New Connection Wizard

Click on Start and then click on Control Panel on the right side of the menu.
Click on Network and Internet Connections.
Click on Set up or change your Internet connection.
In the Internet Properties window that appears, click on the Setup... button.

Click on Next in the welcome screen.

Network Connection Type

Leave the selection on Connect to the Internet.

Click on Next.

Getting Ready

Select Set up my connection manually.

Click on Next.

Internet Connection

Leave the selection on Connect using a dial-up modem.

Click Next.

Connection Name

ISP Name: Type in Volcano for the ISP Name.

Click Next.

Phone Number to Dial

Phone Number: Enter the local dial-up phone number for where you live. Click here to find a local number.

Click Next.

Internet Account Information

Username: Type your Volcano username. Do not include the @volcano.net part.
Password: Type in your password for Volcano.
Confirm password: Type in your password again.

Click Next.

Completing the New Connection Wizard

Click Finish

You may see the Internet Properties window at this time. If you do, select Always dial my default connection and then click OK. If the Desktop has appeared follow the directions below.

Click on Start.
Right click Internet Explorer at the top of the Start menu and then select Internet Properties.
Click on the Connections tab.
Select Always dial my default connection.
Click OK.

You have now set up Windows XP to connect to Volcano. If you would like to set up to send and receive email click here to go to the email setup instructions.
