VIP DSL Setup Instructions

Follow these instructions to set up your computer to use your new DSL service.

Click on Start.
Point to Settings and then click on Control Panel.
Double click Internet Properties.
Click on the Connections tab.
Select "Never dial a connection".
Click OK.

Email

If you are new user with Volcano please contact us to setup your new Volcano email address. If you have done this already and have your Volcano email address and password go to the Email Setup Instructions page to setup your email program.

If you are an existing Volcano user and have had an email address with us, follow the directions below for your program to setup your email account to connect through DSL

Outlook Express 5

Open Outlook Express.
If your computer prompts you to dial, click on either Cancel or Work Offline.
Click on Tools.
Click on Accounts.
Click on the Mail tab.
Select your email account by clicking on it, and then click on Properties.
Click on the Connection tab.
If the box next to "Always connect to this using" is checked, uncheck it.
Click OK and then close the Internet Accounts window.

Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express 4

Follow the instructions for Outlook Express 5 up until the Connection tab then select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)".

Outlook 97

Open Outlook.
Click on Tools.
Click on Services.
Select Internet E-Mail and then click on Properties.
Click on the Connection tab and select "Connect using the network".
Click OK to exit the Properties window and then click OK again to exit the Services window.

Outlook 98

Open Outlook.
Click on Tools.
Click on Services.
Select Internet E-Mail and then click on Properties.
Click on the Connection tab and then select "Connect using my local area network".
Click OK to exit the Properties window and then click OK again to exit the Services window.

Outlook 2002 (XP)

Open Outlook.
Click on Tools.
Click on Email Accounts.
Select "View or change existing email accounts" and then click on Next.
Click on the email account to highlight and then click Change.
Click More Settings.
Click on the Connection tab.
Select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)" and click OK.
Click on Next.
Click on Finish.

Eudora Pro

Open Eudora.
Click on Tools.
Click on Options.
Under Category click on Internet Dialup.
Uncheck the box "Have Eudora connect using Dial-Up Networking".
Click OK.

* Eudora Light does not require any changes to the settings
* Netscape does not require any additional changes to the settings.
